The Seattle/Boston based sludge metal band Spanghew reached and asked to make the cover for their first EP Wing-Ridden Victory.
The pitch was demonic swamp animals, which I thought was pretty rad and got to sketching.
My process for this really boiled down to drawing something, calling the client, drawing some more, calling the client, waiting around for the band to respond, then drawing again.
They initally wanted color but then changed their mind, liking the red spot color. Which I think worked out really well with their logo!
