The Seattle/Boston based sludge metal band ‘Spanghew’, some friends of mine, reached and asked to make the cover for their first EP Wing-Ridden Victory.
The pitch was demonic swamp animals, which I thought was pretty rad and got to sketching.
I’ve got some of my inital sketches to show my process. It was a lot of draw, call the client, draw some more, call the client, wait around for the band to respond, then keep on drawing.
They initally wanted color but then changed their mind, liking the red spot color. Which I think worked out really well with their logo!
